Sunday on the Rooftop

Tertulia is thrilled to be the presenting partner for a day-long chamber music festival featuring musicians from the Imani Winds and the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and artists who appear regularly at the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, all performing on an extraordinary rooftop in Long Island City.

Performances will be offered at 12PM, 2PM, 4PM and 6PM.  Two programs, each approximately 60 minutes long, will each be performed twice.  Please note this event has a rain date of Sunday, October 4th.

Bring a Picnic

Guests will be seated at small tables and are encouraged to bring bites and beverages to enjoy quietly.  Unlike past Tertulia events, we will not be offering any food or beverages. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted.

Safety First

Four performances will be presented in strict adherence with all state and city health regulations. There will be no more than 50 people (including musicians) at each event, audience groups will be seated at socially distanced tables and all participants will be required to wear masks at all times (except while eating or drinking).  All surfaces will be disinfected between performances, stairwells will operate in one-way configurations and elevator use will be restricted and sanitizer will be made available. Audiences will be requested not to arrive until 20 minutes before each event and leave within 15 minutes of the conclusion of each event.

Take the Ferry

The Bordone Long Island City is a brief walk from the Long Island City Ferry Terminal, providing the possibility of traveling to Sunday on the Rooftop entirely outdoors from Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens.  The Bordone is also easily accessible via the E train and there is ample Sunday street parking.
